Xero is a world class Accounting Software specifically designed for small businesses.
Empower is a world class Workshop Productivity and Scheduling Software App designed solely for engineers, joiners and other manufacturers involved in jobbing, custom and one off based manufacturing.
Xero and Empower together is one world class seamless accounting, labour productivity and scheduling solution for engineers and manufacturers.
Empower allows you to automatically create and update invoices in Xero from within Empower.

The following diagram shows how data can flow between Xero and Empower
To Connect to Xero
1. From the Main Management Menu select Tools > Connect To > Xero and click on the Connect to Xero button (highlighted below).
2. Enter your Xero user name and password. If you do not have one visit Xero.
3. Once you have logged in, you should see a page similar to:
4. After clicking on the Allow Access button, you will be redirected back to Empower and asked to select a Xero revenue account (see below).
Note that this can be over ridden on a Job by Job basis.
After selecting a Xero revenue account, the following message will be displayed:
You are now connected to the Xero organization: [Your Organization Name] for Account Type: Revenue and Account Name: [Your Selected Account]
Empower has both integration options, including:
1) Xero New Invoice pushing data to Empower New Job and
2) Empower New Job pushing data to Xero New Invoice. It is the client, job, date and product information that can be transferred. Typically manufacturers involved in retail industries e.g. kitchens and windows and doors who opt to raise the New Invoice in Xero first for initial payment or deposit, use the Xero New Invoice pushing data to Empower New Job integration.
Empower Workshop Productivity and Scheduling Software can automatically add a Job to Xero by creating a draft invoice. This is created as soon as a Job is created in Empower.
1. To do this, first ensure Empower is connected to Xero.
2. Create the Job in the normal manner.
You should see the following page. Note the highlighted connection to Xero message.
Note that the default Xero Account (as set up in Connecting To Xero) can be overridden (see highlighted above)
Once you have created the Job, a draft invoice will be created in Xero.
A message will be displayed on the new Job page detailing the invoice number.
3. This invoice number is brought across from Xero, and is stored in Empower.
It can be viewed or edited in the Job > Edit page in the Invoice Number field.
4. If there are no Products, the draft invoice will have a temporary line item within Xero (see highlighted below) called Price Summary.
This will be updated with the Job’s Products when Products are added and also once the Job has been Dispatched.
Empower can automatically add a Job to Xero by creating a draft invoice in Xero.
This is created as soon as a Job is created.
This creates a draft invoice with the Products that make up the Job. As new Products are added or altered they will be reflected in Xero.
Dispatching a Job will also update Xero.
Empower has Price information at the Job level, so if there is more than one Product in the Job, the Price will always be reflected in Xero in the first item’s row.
Note that this will only occur if the Job has previously been added to Xero and if you are still connected to Xero.
It is possible to import Xero Contacts into the Empower Customer list.
To do this:
1. From within Empower ensure you are connected to Xero.
2. From the main Management Menu select Set Up > Customer.
3. Click on Import Xero Contacts (highlighted above).
You should see a page similar to
This will display all Xero Contacts from Xero.
Click on Import to import the Contact’s details into Empower. These will be visible in Empower in the Set Up > Customer page.
To import multiple Contacts click on the appropriate Multi Select Check box and then click on Multi Import. A maximum of 15 can be imported at a time.
To import invoices from Xero into Empower Jobs.
1. Within Empower ensure you are connected to Xero.
2. From the main Management Menu select Tools > Connect To > Xero

Click on Import (highlighted above) to select a specific invoice to be imported and be created as a Job.
To select multiple Invoices click on the appropriate Multi Select Check box and then click on Multi Import. A maximum of 15 can be imported at a time.
Note that the Xero Reference is used as the new Empower Job Number and the Xero line items for that Xero Reference becomes the Product.
To import quotes from Xero into Empower Jobs.
1. Within Empower ensure you are connected to Xero.
2. From the main Management Menu select Tools > Connect To > Xero
